About

I am a graphic designer, illustrator, and paper artist. Born and raised in Hayward, I graduated with a BFA in graphic design from CSU East Bay. I currently work as the graphic designer for Downtown San Leandro and I coordinate and execute all marketing materials for the district.

When I am not doing design work, I enjoy painting and creating realistic botanical paper sculptures. I am one of the art teachers for the Hayward La Honda Music Camp, encouraging kids to explore art and to not be afraid of getting their hands dirty. I have also been featured in both the CSU East Bay gallery and local window displays.

This is the poster design for the San Leandro Artisan Market. For this design, I wanted to incorporate San Leandro's iconic Truth is Beauty sculpture and butterflies, a symbol that is also central to San Leandro. This event was organized in an effort to showcase local artists and small businesses.

OKDROBERFEST Poster Design

This is the logo and marketing materials for San Leandro's first annual OkDROberfest celebration. I wanted to create something with a funky 1950's bar feel to reflect some of San Leandro's vintage typography.

This was a poster for the second annual San Leandro Family Earth Day Festival. I wanted the poster for this event to incorporate the illusion of layered paper to create depth.

San Leandro Cherry Festival Logo

After a three year hiatus from the pandemic, the City of San Leandro asked me to revamp the San Leandro Cherry Festival logo.

Asia Delight Window Mural

This is a window "mural" that I designed for a local business affected by the pandemic. The purpose was to add movement and visual interest to an outdoor breezeway while still complementing the business.

Layout Design

Here are some of the layouts that I have worked on for a few of my clients including the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro, Critical Intervention Corps, and The Downtown San Leandro Ambassador Program.

2023 Event Recap Ad

This was an ad that I created to showcase all of the events I helped coordinate in Downtown San Leandro. I did all of the graphic design and marketing for these events as well.

26th Annual It's a Wonderful Night Recap

This is a recap video I made of the annual San Leandro Holiday Festival "It's a Wonderful Night." I designed all materials for this event including posters, postcards, social media posts, and video ads. I also helped to coordinate the event itself.

Hayward La Honda Music Camp Shirt Design

This was a shirt design for the Hayward La Honda Music Camp. It is a week long camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains that offers in depth music education and opportunities for kids.

I am an avid paper sculptor and this was a 70 craft page book that I designed for some of my projects. I wrote, photographed, and designed all of the projects and templates in this book.

Party Gator

I created this illustration as part of a digital birthday card for a friend.

You're as Cold as Ice Book Design

This was a book cover design and interior spread. For this project, I was inspired by a This American Life story by Sam Shaw about one of the largest cryogenics disasters of all time. I used watercolors to give the impression of skulls that are frozen and melting and edited them in photoshop. I also used InDesign to create the finished layout.

Adrift Watercolor Painting

I love to paint and watercolors are my favorite. I was inspired by the Pacific Northwest Coast and the colors and trees I saw on my way to Oregon.

Geppetto's Menu Design

This was a menu design for a seafood restaurant. I wanted it to be reminiscent of the eroding paints and buildings of seaside towns, so I incorporated that texture into the illustrations.

OKDROBERFEST Logo Design

Tarot Card Watercolor Painting

I absolutely LOVE the Daniel Smith watercolor color Mayan Blue and I wanted to do a piece to experiment with this color. This is in part inspired by the Rider Waite High Priestess tarot card and a 1920's wizard costume I found.
